Livia eats cheese twirl 17Feb08

Yesterday on Berit’s birthday I experimented with using a Panasonic HDC-SD5 Full HD videocamera. These widescreen HD camera’s are getting smaller and smaller. They are just as, or even smaller then my Sony Mini DV camera. Very lightweight also, holds no tape but uses an SD card to store video. You can put 40 minutes of full HD quality video on an 4GB SD card which I found quite surprising.

This is something I filmed while waiting on Berit and Yvonne to pick up Berit’s birthday cake. Livia is eating a cheese twirl while listening to her favourite song. I imported the video into iMovie 08 and uploaded it to YouTube.

There is not much left of the quality of the HD recording so I uploaded another version to my .Mac account. This version is HD content. 960x540 pixels and also directly exported from iMovie, which works great b.t.w. Click here for a much higher resolution video.

At the petting zoo 28Jan08

Took Berit and Livia to the petting zoo today. Good weather, not busy thus very relaxing. Livia usually takes about an half hour to not be scared of the animals, then she dares walking among peacocks who are almost her size. Berit hits the play area almost right away, until she gets the urge to feed some animals.

Attic performance 19Jan08

Livia playtime video’s 23May07

I am testing publication of video content. I chose to use the Brightcove service over other video solutions mainly because of their customization options and being able to integrate the video player into an existing website design. Of course the popular YouTube, Google video and Yahoo video are popular options but they do not offer the flexibility and a nice looking player like Brightcove offers.

I am going to try to integrate the player wih ExpressionEngine so that publication of new videos is as easy as publishing a text post. Here are some video’s of Livia playing at Grandpa Leo’s attic. A lot of children love to play with the labels of their toys, especially babies. When Livia receives a new toy she always finds the label and after a while it is the only interesting piece of the toy. So what could be better to buy a toy with 19 labels on it?

At Label-Label.com you can buy a blankie/towel which has 19 colourful labels, with nice pictures. Attached for example are a label with harts, a label with a teddy-bear, a label with little ducks, a velvet label and a satin label. It comes in 4 colors and is about 30 cm square. At least now you know when you are looking for the washing label, it is there, you just have to find it amongst 19 labels wink.

Little girls grow big 2Feb07

Our youngest little girl is getting big quite fast. Here you can see Livia (or big blue eyes as we like to call her) sitting in a big chair for the first time. I noticed looking at the picture that she is growing lots of hair. Little details like that go by unnoticed when you see your child every day. Photo taken by Grandma and Grandpa Kesling today.
